Green LUV truck boys from Bitburg
Hello,
Just getting onto this board and figured and hoped that some good discussions could evolve here. We race the Green Chevy LUV truck and are mostly at Bitburg other than our season opener at Chambley. We would like to get into some racing at some other tracks. Brackets, Footbrake classes where deep staging is allowed. We would like to see what options are available. Hello to anyone we know from the track.
We would also like to see some people MAN UP and race, hot lapping between runs and quit polishing their trailer queens.
Cheers,
Alex

RE: From Bitburg with LUV
Hello Benni and thanks for the welcome. Also thank you for the information you provided in your last post.
Not planning any modifications to the LUV over the winter. Simply going to clean up some of the wiring and get some things "dress right dress." Only thing we have to look at is possibly replacing the rear leaf springs. The 1979 stock 4 cylinder springs are a little tired and have lost some of their arc. During the course of the next season we may try another set of cylinderheads that we've been meaning to throw on the 385.
We'll have to look at the DMSB tech inspection you speak of. Is there an online link to the requirements? I can't fathom that they are more strict than NHRA class rules. The truck has a full cage, driveshaft loop, one piece solid axles with studs, and will get a window net and battery cut off this winter.
It was nice meeting you and talking to you in Bitburg.
Cheers,
Alex
