Also: 1x reicht vollkommen!!! :base:

Well Jürgen, what do you think, 1600+km to Wittstock or 450+km to Santa Pod ?
eXplosion started a Mickey Mouse competition for season 2007 ,caused by the lack of our own strip.
This means that nobody can afford the 2007 Championship, only well funded-sponsored teams. ( and as far as I know those teams doesn't exist in Holland,at least not in the Sportsman ranks ).
Most SB-SSB two wheelers and SM ,S/ST and SG cars are just normal streetcars and bikes, they don't need to travel to both venues to race each other.
They race on the streets nowadays, not on the strip.
If that's what our Government wants, then they will get it....
Let's face it, if you German guys didn't organise the Wittstock and Luckau events ,then the German dragrace scene would probably be just as dead as ours at the moment.....
So be happy with the 200+ entry's for your Juli-event and try to make it a good one, then the few serious Dutch drivers left over will join in the coming years,no doubt about it....

Just my 2 cents...
Michel

Support German Dragracing!

800 km to get to Wittstock and yes,we wanna go back home after 3 days of racing, that's another 800....makes around 1600.
Doesn't matter what the exact distance might be,but for most teams this is the main issue,as most of the racers live in the western part of Holland.
If you have an old truck/coach as racetransporter like we had that uses 400 ltrs of fuel for such a weekend-trip,then you can do the math.
A trip to England with the ferry, same old truck-9 passengers, would cost the same...been there ,done that.
And then you could also watch FIA / FIM when you become a first round loser.

I don't say that people shouldn't go to these German events, but you can only spend your money once.
Of course,if your team exist of a good number of people ,you could split costs.
Some are more fortunate than others, that's life...
Who wouldn't like to visit every event in Europe and wants to own a two car ProMod team,but...
Well, good luck to all, where ever you go racing.

@Hou$eBros:

Yes, you are right and there is always a but...

Everyone needs to make his own decision. We also started with three events a year at drachten and than just two.

Everyone likes to have Drachten back but if this would not happen I really don´t see a change to carry the track from Wittstock to Drachten ;-). Wittstock is even a new track where we try to do bigger and bigger events in the future.

So maybe it is the best choice to go to SantaPod, even while the FIA classes are runing there.

I was just wondering that the discussion about Drachten is starting right now. The problem is known since the last event in 2006. Than there was the discussion that explosion is supporting Luckau.

Hope that Drachten is coming back and that they will find a way between preparing and cleaning the track.

Regards,

Torsten
