Hi folks,

Sorry about my German, it's just too difficult for us stupid people!

I am the editor of www.cedrag.com (http://), an Englsih language website for all things related to drag racing in central Europe.

Big things are happening hereabouts and we are trying to build a central European championship to start in 2010. Are there asny tracks and racers in the deep south of Germany? We are hoping some of them may like to come and play over here in Hungary, Croatia, Romania, Slovakia .... even Austria if we can find a track with a friendly town hall (unlikely).

Your views will be much appreciated.

All I have to do now is find the "submit" button!

Hi Paul,

a warm welcome to you and all the racer at the CEDRAG area.
I have corrected you link
http://www.cedrag.com/
cause it didn't work.
I think the user GUSTL here at the board would be a person to talk to about tracks and availlability.
It's quite an interesting option to come to you guys for racing, due to the fact we are running out of options in Germany.
At present we have Hockenheim and that's it. A lot of racer take the opportunity and support the Dutch eXplosion and there 3 races been held at Drachten Airport in Holland.
Your side looks very promissing and I hope you keep us posted about the development at your side. I saw Johnny Be Good's profile at your page and he is well known at this board and race tracks as well.
For our team it would be worth more than just one thought to pay our neigbours a visit and race your tracks.

Cheers,
Merlin(R)

Hi Guys, Thanks for the replies. We were very happy to do the profile of 'Johnny be good', and I hope he gets his transmission sorted for next year.

The nearest tracks to germany would be Meidl airport at Fertoszentmiklos in north western Hungary (Near the Austria border) although it is not a very grippy place. If you can justify the trip, Kiskunlachaza (just south of Budapest) is a good track which will be prepared with traction compound for some of the events. There will be 2-day race in Slovenia and Varazdin, Croatia which are not a milion miles from Passau.

It would be great to see you guys come south. Keep an eye on cedrag.com, we'll make the calendar for 2010 as soon as we get confirmation of the dates.

Thanks for correcting the link, it was a bit strange navigating my way through German instructions. How do I post this...... Hmmm ... is it "Zurcksetzen"?

No, I just lost everything - lucky I put on the clipboard first. Next I'll try "Vorschau"....

No, that just showed me a preview, OK, it must be "Antwort erstellen"

Hi Paul,

it sounds very good what you guys pulling together.
We keep a close eye on credrag and start to hurry in our garage.
We like to get some run in 2010, even if it means some traveling is required.
No travel - No fun :grins:

Kind regards from Germany,

Merlin(R)

Little piece of news from tonight's trip to Voitsberg (Aus) where I m,et with Mike Magreaur (new Dodge coronet) Heinz Schenk (Camaro) and Walter Puko (Wrangler Jeep). All three of these guys have serious race machines and have agreed to investigate running with a group of similar cars I've been trying to recruit recently. Including Croatian Edo Galic and his 632 ci Malibu, I now have 4 people. I'm off to Hungary soon to try my luck with the sub-ten second guys there.

Hey Merlin, Is that your hot rod on your avatar?

Beautiful truck Merlin, we would love to see it racing in this region.

We have much work to do but, when I am confident we have organised something good, I WILL be in contact.

Danke!

Hungary trip now booked for 27th November. Early indications are that at least three 'top guns' are interested in taking part.

Soon I will be looking towards Germany for recruits... any suggestions about who may want to be part of it?
