Ist zwar ein paar Tage alt die Pressemitteilung aber ich habe hier im Forum nichts gefunden und im www.raceblog.de auch nicht.

Eurodragster.com berichtete heute bereits zum zweiten mal darüber und ich finde, das was Marco Maurischat hier macht ein tolle Sache!

2008 Pro Mod Challenge

New Eurodragster news sponsor Exhaust-coating.de, announce that they are to sponsor a “Pro Mod Challenge” in 2008. The idea is the brainchild of ‘soon to be’ - Pro Mod racer Marco Maurischat. Exhaust-coating.de is a division of Marco’s own company - Pulverbeschichtung Nord GmbH Germany, and it is this brand that will be the title sponsor for the challenge! To be held at the 2008 European Finals at Santa Pod Raceway. The Challenge is open for the top 8 drivers as determined by qualifying points earned at previous 2008 FIA European Championship rounds by the top 16 qualifiers. First prize will be awarded with 2000 Euros as well as 500 Euros for the runner up. The point system and standings will be shown on www.promod.nu, www.eurodragster.com and www.exhaust-coating.de after each FIA round. To earn points and prize money one decal on both side of the race car is all that is necessary.

First we were thinking initially about some prize money for the winner of the European FIA championship. But then we decided to switch to the shootout format. We know that not all Pro Mod racers will be able to win the FIA championship. But to earn points as a qualifier is possible for most, so to get points to stay under the last 8 at the end of the season is something that can happen for almost everybody in this class. It will be very exciting to see who takes the 2000 Euros as well as the 500 Euros for the runner up at Santa Pod in September. We will visit the Main event to talk to the racers and hand the decals out to them. Hopefully all Pro Mod racers will enjoy the extra excitement of racing to earn some money!”
