die Leistung bei den Jungs rangiert so grob zwischen 2500 und 3000 PS

Und ich arme Sau komme so mit 5-10 % Jahresbudget ein guten Pro teams aus - ca. 1600 PS und 1290 kg.

so zwischen 50000 - 100000 € drunter wird`s sehr schwer sich auch nur zu qualifizieren. Sponsoren ist in Europa ne schwierige Sache - bei einigen mehr bei einigen weniger.
In den USA kann man wohl locker ne "Null" nochmal hinten dranhängen - das liegt aber auch daran, daß die deutlich mehr Rennen haben und dadurch erheblich mehr
für Material und Reisekosten aufgewendet werden muß.

Hello,

I was just down in Doha for two weeks for business and went to the Qatar Racing Club track for Round 5 Jan 13-14. The races are run by the ADRL, http://www.adrl.us/, and ADRL traditionally runs 1/8th mile events. Classes are:

Pro Extreme
Pro Nitrous
Extreme 10.5
Extreme Pro Stock

The track is very nice, full concrete and very well prepped by the ADRL. I saw Dan Millen, Frankie Taylor, Mike "The Hitman" Hill, Shannon Jenkins, Rubes (driving Hill's old 10.5 Mustang). Also saw Frank Mazo crew chiefing on KH's car.

This pits consist of individual garages and the ADRL racers are very open to questions.

DA was around 700 and temperatures were cool. I realy wished someone could have paid to ship my car down there for a few passes. No slip and slide on this track. If you didn't make a good pass it definately wasn't the track's fault.

Only thing missing was a general sportsman bracket racer field but the Arabian racers involved have too much money to be running 9 to 10 seconds.

The DA combined with the good track is very "interesting". Is that a common DA in that area?

war grad mal auf der ADRL HP bei den Regeln für Pro Extreme. Hab mich insgeheim gewundert warum die Jungs tw. locker bzw. schnellere Zeiten fahren als die NHRA /IHRA
Pro Mods. Nitromethan ist das Zauberwort - anscheinend 50% bei den roots blown cars erlaubt. Desweiteren Schraubenkompressoren und der ganze Schweinkram

Hello Björn,

No there weren't that many spectators. Myself and others got in for free with VIP and pit passes as I think they are trying to make the sport more popular. Even got a ticket for a free Johnny Rocket's burger meal or free Starbucks coffee. Many of the other spectators were crew or team familiy members also.
I don't know what the DA is regularly. I was there in January and it was relatively cool. (18-20 grad at the track) By the month of March Qatar is hot and they no longer race. Talking with one of the driver's he told me that for the ADRL events the driver's don't even have to pay entry (even in the US). Just show up and race and I guess the profits are made at the gate and concessions. I suppose much of the activity in Qatar is subsidized by the Emir's son.

Have a look at one of the track prep vehicles. There are 4 Goodyear slicks on the apparatus hooked to the tractor's PTO and they counter-rotate as the tractor moves forward. This along with the use of lots of resin allowed the outlaw 10.5 cars such as Dan Millen's run 3.79 @ 204.

Wooton Racing, wildes teil, kam aber nie in die 3er zeiten rein. bestzeit war ne 4,1. scheinbar auch nicht einfach zu handeln das ding.
