I know in the us they have different classes , Scott Kelly and Doug gonzales are best competitors at this time . doug races in SS/VX for example and set a new record at Phoenix of 10,9.. They run superstreet cars with smaller engines . Most original modyfied parts. that makes it a little cheaper and like Thorsten sayed it takes more experience and knowledgement to make those engines fast. That is very interesting . A Superstreet engine for a beetle costs about 25000-30000 euros. An engine like that would be from 15000 up :-)

Where can we find the swedish rules for that classes ? I know in the us they have limited weight , carburators . original head castings and engine case ...for the VW's
The good thing is that with those rules the engines do not get so expensive :-)

LOL, I guess you have never priced a competitive "stock" engine build. I think a competitive stock V8 engine frrom Tilburg will run upwards of 20K.

Why isn't there a segment for the awsome Stock/Super Stock class?
It's legendary and is one of the most entertaining and fun classes besides Pro Modified!

BTW, I think S/SS racing is great! Small tires, wheelstands and no cut up shyt boxes. But I am also a fan of bracket racing. I think most people are simply interested in heads up racing and don't understand bracket racing and its principles.

Because of this we can be lucky to have the proet class in germany . But headsup like the ss class would be a good alternate :-)

So What is the development, is it growing, do you get more cars and more races, or?
In Sweden alone do we have about 90 races each season. Have you ever considered coming to Sweden for a race?

Jan we like to race in Sweden and give it a try this year from 3 events.
But it will be SuperComp. Nevertheless all you guys in Scandinavia have set up is racers heaven in Europe.
I hope it will work out for us and if we can find a place to leave truck and trailer it will be a great idea.
Time's gonna tell.

Markus ich verstehe deinen Unmut, aber es ist auch eine Frage der Startklasse.
Es ist sehr löblich, was Fuel Crew oder auch der Maik mit Alkersleben auf die Beine stellen oder gestellt haben.
Auch die Bemühungen von den Kollegen aus Bautzen sind unterstützungwert.
Somit ist wenigstens ein Plattform für den aufstrebenden Nachwuchs gegeben, nur was bitte sollen die alten V8'er denn machen?
Wir bekommen in Deutschland keine Strecken, da kannst Du doch nur noch auswandern.
Der deutsche T&T muß in CZ stattfinden, weil Luckau die Tore geschlossen hat. Na merkste was?
Du selbst hast doch mit SproET und Tony mit ProET das Bracket-Racing wieder ins Bewußtsein gerufen und mußt immer wieder
um Strecken, Starts und Rennen kämpfen. Wenn ich lese, dass jetzt die NDRS von der Speedgroup betreut wird geht mir das Herz auf.
Komisch das so etwas in D unmöglich scheint. Warum?
Weil hier immer noch nach dem Motto: Viel Feind, viel Ehr
gezockt wird.
Genau aus diesem Grunde bricht es mich an. Da flieg ich lieber nach Schweden und steig auf meinen PickUp und fahre noch einige
100km zum Rennen. Da komme ich dann wenigstens auch mal zum Fahren und muß nicht schon nach 3 Läufen, wenn überhaupt, wieder einpacken.
Bitte denke dran, ich bin nur Fahrer und kein Veranstalter oder Ausrichter.
Wir haben und werden immer gern das deutsche Dragracing unterstützen, aber das Angebot bestimmt bei mir die Nachfrage.

Conny... keine Panik... noch sind wir ein freies Land... zumindest so in etwa. Kann jeder machen was er will.... Und wer mit nem unter 10 sek. auto in BRD fahren möchte, der wird nicht viel finden... kein Thema.

UDO, You must come to Sweden and Finland and compete then!
At the major races are we between 20-36 cars in S/SS so the competition and the SHOW is great!
But make sure that your cars are S/SS legal, because if they arn't will you be disqualified...Don't hesitate to ask, we will guide you. Have you seen the Swedish S/SS message board (http://forum.sssa.se/yabb2/YaBB.pl)
Most guys put in about €50-100.000 in their cars, so they are dead serious...the top players have about €150.000+ invested in their S/SS cars so the competition is crazy...AND FUN!
