Thorsten you make it look as if the NHRA are not going to let these sportman racers complete this event, I have been to many event where they have had to stop the event because of the weather. The NHRA have always found a way to finish the event, be it the next day Monday the following weekend or even at a different track. This is what they have done in this case moving it to a different venue as you can see in the link on NHRA.com.

With a threatening forecast looming, NHRA officials have decided to delay Saturday's planned completion of Sportsman racing from the O'Reilly NHRA Spring Nationals presented by Pennzoil at Houston Raceway Park. The racing will be completed in two parts – Comp, Super Stock, Stock, and Super Comp at the upcoming Texas Motorplex LODRS and Super street at the O'Reilly NHRA Fall Nationals in September.

Comp will run their final two rounds April 14, during Saturday's qualifying at the Texas Motorplex Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series event.

Super Stock, Stock, and Super Comp will run Thursday, April 12, the day before the Dallas Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series event beginning with a time run at 4 p.m. followed by eliminations. Super Stock, Stock, and Super Comp will all be random paired first round. Ladders will be generated by closest to the dial for second round.

Competitors who attended and withdrew from the Houston event can return and compete in the event at Dallas if they choose. Those competitors who cannot return are still able to withdraw by just not showing up.

Super Street will move to the O'Reilly Fall Nationals in Dallas, Sept. 20-23, and will be open only to those racers that were entered and attended the Houston event. No car or driver changes allowed.

Payout will be done by NHRA via mail from headquarters in Glendora.

Also as far as leaving the property, it has been in the rules for many years that the PRO's can not leave before the event is over and sometime the sportsman classes can not leave the event also or they have a different gate to go out. Now if that gate is unpassable you wait.
