Hello Carsten,
Removing the Front Sway bar and adding a rear way bar will help. You want the front end to rise as quickly and easily as possible transferring the weight to the back. The rear sway bar would help keep the car straight on launch since G-bodies like to twist unloading a rear tire.
We had broken shocks on the LUV and added the crappy Competition engineering ones and they did help. Not the shock of choice for drag racing, but better than a regular shock. The adjustability did allow the front end to rise quicker and gave us a little more to play with.
A and G body General Motors cars often like a stiff spring in the back. Have you considered some SSM style lift bars like the Jegster lift bars?
